August news update
The band just took 3 months off while Janet went bike riding in Europe, Whitt performed at Splendour In The Grass with an electronica outfit and Kram spent some time in LA before heading to Japan to perform at a number of festivals including the Fuji Rock & Summer Sonic Festivals with tokyo house DJ SUGIURUM. Kram met DJ SUGIURUM a few years back while Spiderbait was touring Japan. He sang on one of the tracks on Sugiurum’s latest albums and went to Japan to perform it live. I don’t think the Japanese knew what hit them. DJ Sugiurumn has released 5 albums in recent years and is one of Japans top underground DJs.
Now the band have reconvened in Melbourne and are about to release a Greatest Hits compilation featuring the new single, On My Way with an excellent video starring Kram in lycra (not to be missed!) It’s actually the Ripe Clip Of The Week next week on Channel V so make sure you tune in. The Greatest Hits has 22 tracks of a mixture of some singles and some tracks that were never released as singles but have been a big part of their live shows over the years. It also comes with a bonus dvd of all their video clips (all 26 of them!). Greatest Hits will be released 12th September.
The band will be playing a few shows over the next month (check the Live section for tour dates) but won’t be heading out nationally till Coke Live hits the road 30th September. They’ll be doing their own national tour in November so stay tuned for dates.
